Elizabeth M. "Betty" Lucas, age 98, of Crawfordsville, Iowa, died Friday, November 20, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Calling hours will begin 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Services will be livestreamed on the Jones & Eden Facebook page. Mask usage and social distancing guidelines will be enforced. Interment will take place at Elmwood Gardens Cemetery in Morning Sun, Iowa.

Betty was born April 4, 1922, at her parents home in Morning Sun, Iowa, the daughter of John Jamison and Tillie (McElhinney) Caldwell. She attended school in Morning Sun, Iowa graduating from high school in 1939. Betty was united in marriage to Allan Lucas on November 15, 1945, at her mother's home in Washington, Iowa.
Betty was a homemaker and was very active in the family farm operation. She was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville, the White Cloud Neighborhood Club, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening and canning.
She is survived by her son, Ron Lucas of Washington, Iowa; son, Roger Lucas of Crawfordsville, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Michelle Talley and husband Greg of Richland, Iowa; Craig Lucas of Kalona, Iowa; Allison Lucas of Washington, Iowa; Kathleen Lucas of Washington, Iowa; Kelly Lucas of Cordova, Tennessee; Nick Lucas and wife Christy of Rossville, Tennessee; Roger Heath of Sunderland, Ontario; Meagan Heath and fiancé, Casey of Winfield, Iowa; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allan, in 2018; two brothers: Johnnie and Paul Caldwell; one half-brother, Howard Willson; one half-sister, Pauline Blick; and daughter-in-law, Edie Lucas, in 2017.
