Elizabeth M. 'Betty' Plasberg

Elizabeth "Betty" May Plasberg, 77, of Richmond, Va., died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Plasberg was born April 17, 1930 in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of Arthur and Alma Somerville.

She married Coen Christian Plasberg of Maastricht, Holland on Nov. 16, 1957 at Church of the Holy Apostles in Baltimore, Md. Mr. Plasberg died March 26, 1987. Mrs. Plasberg had previously lived in Mt. Pleasant, Staunton, Va. and New Orleans, La.

She was previously a member of the Laurel Art Guild, Howard County Art Guild and Maryland Art League. Mrs. Plasberg was an avid painter, virtuoso pianist and had an engaging sense of humor.

Surviving are two daughters, Diana Plasberg and her husband Edward Pettinato of Richmond, Va., and Laura Plasberg of New York, N.Y.; a son, Christian Plasberg and his wife Pamela Plasberg of Winchester, Va.; two grandchildren, Ian and Jared Plasberg of Winchester, Va.; and numerous friends and extended family. She is preceded in death by her sister, Dora Pirtle.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Baltimore, Md.
