Elizabeth Stephens

      Elizabeth Stephens, 90, of Tucson, Ariz., and formerly of Mt. Pleasant and Wayland, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, in the Desert Life Care Center of Tucson.

      The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland. Visitation will be 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home with the family present one hour before the service. Burial will be in the Finley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Finley Cemetery.

      Mrs. Stephens was born March 15, 1910, at Wayland, the daughter of Samuel and Ann Kauffman Goldsmith. She married Ralph Stephens on July 14, 1935, at Reinbeck. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant and was a retired teacher.

      Survivors include a daughter, Ann and Frank Rodgers of Tucson; three grandchildren and a cousin, Ruth Goldsmith of Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Donald Goldsmith.
