Elizabeth Zinn
KALONA ? Elizabeth Zinn, 85, of Wellman, formerly of Kalona, died Monday, April 25, 2016, in Parkview Manor in Wellman.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 2, at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with the Rev. Scott Swartzendruber officiating. Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona Mennonite Church, Parkview Manor, and the American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Zinn was born May 7, 1930, in Orloff, Russia, the daughter of Jacob and Kathrina (Rumpel) Willer. She married Woldemar Zinn on Oct. 8, 1950, at the Eicher Mennonite Church in Wayland.
She and her husband lived in the Wayland area until moving to Kalona in 1957. She was a member of the Kalona Mennonite Church and enjoyed crocheting, needlework, gardening and traveling.
Surviving are two daughters, Elsa Trotto and husband Anthony of Rochester, New York, and Judy Nagel and husband Gregory of Wellman; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Zinn Vanderploeg of Southampton, Ontario; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joe Willer and wife Barb of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woldemar; one son, Jacob Zinn; one grandson; two sisters, Maria Brubacher, and Anna Dumke; and one brother, Jacob Willer.
