Ella B. Beckman March 11, 1914 - November 5, 2003

      Ella Bohlen Beckman, 89, of Danville, died on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at her home.

      The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Peace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gary Boesche officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery in rural West Burlington. Visitation will be from noon to 4:30 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the church. A memorial has been established to Peace Lutheran Church.

      Survivors include five sons, Richard C. Beckman of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, Robert W. Beckman of Mediapolis, Jim R. Beckman of Mt. Pleasant, Donald R. Beckman of Danville, and Rodney Beckman of Stockport; three daughters, Verletta McGlaughlin of Marion, Joyce Beckman and Marjean Gerdes, both of Danville; 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo Bohlen of New London, and Dale Bohlen of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; and two sisters, Ethel Asby of Cedar Rapids, and Dorothy Thye of Wever.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, three sisters and four brothers.
