KIRKSVILLE, Mo. ? Ella Mae Yarnell, 84, of Kirksville, Missouri, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1951, at Golden Living Center?s Pin Oaks in Mexico, Missouri.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Cheeseman Cemetery in western Adair County, Missouri. Visitation with the family will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yarnell was born July 17, 1931, in Adair County, Missouri, to LaVerne Everett and Rocelia Gertrude (Craig) Walker. She married Jerry Dean Yarnell on March 21, 1977, in Washington, Iowa.
She grew up in the Kirksville area, moved to Washington where her stepfather was a farmer and worked for the railroad. She completed her high school diploma after her children were born. She worked at the calendar factory, Advance Ross, and the University of Iowa from which she retired. She was also an instructor at the pool for arthritis patients. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kirksville and a member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed quilting and making and collecting dolls.
Mrs. Yarnell is survived by four sons, William John Little of Kirksville, Gary Wayne Little and wife Mary of Indianola, Iowa, Terry Lee Little and wife Petra of Germany, and Gerald W. Yarnell and wife Linda of Pueblo, Colorado; three daughters, Sandra Wilson of Descanso, California, Beverly Lynn Yarnell of Texas, Patsy Lynn Dunai of Michigan; two half sisters, Jane Larson and husband Ronald of Joy, Illinois, and Patricia Olsen and husband Art of Joy, Illinois; one brother, Wilford L. Walker and wife Gloria of Monmouth, Illinois; one half brother, David Walker and wife Elizabeth of Aledo, Illinois; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two daughters, Marylin Jean Yarnell and Lee Bellet; and two grandsons.
