Ellen Edelman

KALONA - Ellen Edelman, 93, of Kalona, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from complications of a stroke.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Kalona Mennonite Church with the Rev. Scott Swartzendruber and the Rev. Mick Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be made to the Kalona Mennonite Church.

      Mrs. Edelman was born April 15, 1915 near Kalona, the daughter of Chancy and Mary (Yoder) Hershberger. She married Samuel Edelman on Dec. 31, 1937 in her parents' home in rural Iowa City.
