Ellen M. Achen

Ellen Marie Achen, 82, of Washington, died Sunday, Aug. 10, at Halcyon House in Washington following declining health.

Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with family present from 5 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Paul Appel officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Wacoma later that day.

Memorials have been established for St. James Catholic Church and the St. James School.

She was born Feb. 17, 1926 in New Hampton, the daughter of John and Stella Gorman Sheridan. On June 12, 1947, she married Nicholas Achen in Lawler.
