Ellen Marie Achen

      Ellen Marie Achen, 82, of Washington, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, in Halcyon House in Washington following declining health.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Appel officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Wacoma. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday in the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. James Catholic Church or the St. James School.

      Mrs. Achen was born Feb. 17, 1926 in New Hampton, the daughter of John and Stella (Gorman) Sheridan. She married Nicholas Achen on June 12, 1947 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lawler.
