Ellen E. Reynolds, 80, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at the Henry County Health Center in Moumt Pleasant.

Ellen was born April 11, 1941, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, the daughter of Henry Edward and Mary Catherine (Smith) Lampe. She attended Parochial School and later transferred to Mount Pleasant High School, where she graduated. Following graduation, she went to nursing college and received her Registered Nursing license. Ellen was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Reynolds on June 5, 1965, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2015. Ellen worked for MHI of Mount Pleasant until she retired after 40 years. She loved family gatherings, reading cook books and enjoyed cooking. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Reynolds of Wayland, Iowa, and Julie Randall of Farmington, Minn.; four grandchildren, Jason Reynolds, Brendon Reynolds, Alycia Eakins and Madisyn Reynolds; three great-grandchildren, Blane Eakins, Brooklyn Reynolds and Lucas Reynolds; and her sister, Mary Kay Hill of Mount Pleasant.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons, Kevin and Christopher Reynolds; one sister, Evelyn Roth; two brothers, Everette Lampe and Glen Lampe; and one niece, Jo Ellyn Roth.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant with Father Paul Connolly officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 that evening. A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be directed to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in her memory.
