Ellis L. Henessee September 9, 1922 - October 20, 2005

      Ellis L. Henessee, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service was at 10 a.m. today at Elliott Chapel in New London, followed by burial with military rites conducted by Henry County Honor Guard in Burge Cemetery in New London. Memorials have been established to the American Diabetes Association and to the donor's choice.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Henessee and Dennis and his wife Lorna Henessee, both of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Karen and her husband Harold Vaughn of San Angelo, Texas, Linda Norton of Mt. Pleasant, and Donna and her husband Patrick Dean of Danville; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Seager of Burlington.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Robert Lee; a sister, Margaret Emerson; and a brother, Merle Henessee.
