Elsie L. Heater
Elsie Luella Heater, 93, of New London, died Monday, Sept. 10, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Burge Cemetary, New London. Arrangements were made by New London's Elliott Chapel.
She was born May 12, 1914, in Grand River, the daughter of Hugh and Mary Glazebrook. In 1934, she married Lloyd Harlan Foland, but they later divorced. On June 20, 1945, she married Max Cleo Heater.
A homemaker, she also worked at the Iowa Ordnance Plant in Middletown, the New London Glove Factory, and spent 15 years as a nursing aide. She enjoyed flowers, embroidering, and being with family.
She is survived by her brother, Francis Glazebrook of Des Moines; two sons, Richard Foland and his wife Charlene of Russel and Larry Heater and his wife Judy of Burlington; two daughters, Deloris Gwinn of Osceola and Marylou Terry of Burlington, and several grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, two sisters, Pauline Parmer and Mildred See, two brothers, Earl and Ralph Glazebrook, and one granddaughter have preceded her in death.
