Elva Grace Cummings

Elva Grace Cummings, 80, of Richland, died at 6:12 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Jefferson County Hospital.

      The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Prairie View United Methodist Church near Ollie with the Rev. Shirley Hoffman Will officiating. Burial will be in the Scott Township Cemetery near Winfield. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church preceding the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Prairie View United Methodist Church or to the Richland Public Library. Arrangements are by the Raymond Funeral Home.

      Mrs. Cummings was born Aug. 17, 1920, at Winfield, the daughter of William K. and Maggie C. Yohe Cummings. She grew up and attended school in Winfield, and made her home with her sister Elizabeth for the past 38 years. She was a member of Prairie View United Methodist Church and enjoyed word books, puzzles, and her pet cats and dogs.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie Gibbs and Lucille Davis; and a brother and sister in infancy. Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Leisure of Richland and Wilma Hudson of Mediapolis; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
