Emery Hochstetler

      KALONA - Emery Hochstetler, 86, of Kalona, died suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at his home.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at West Union Mennonite Church in rural Parnell, with the Rev. David Boshart and Deacon Helen Yoder officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, at the church, with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Pastoral Leadership Training Fund of the Central Plaines Mennonite Conference.

      Mr. Hochstetler was born on Oct. 14, 1918, in Pierce County, N.D., to Eli and Edna Hochstetler. On Nov. 16, 1944, he married Audrey Swartzendruber.
