Emery John Wenger

      WAYLAND-Emery John Wenger, 92, of Swedesburg died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a short illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Nathan Luitjens officiating. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the church, where family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be designated to the Gideons International or the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church.

      Mr. Wenger was born March 5, 1914, in Washington County to David and Kathryn (Roth) Wenger. He married Mary Dorothy Roth on Nov. 26, 1936, in Seward County, Neb.
