Eric Paul Bloom, 74, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on February 20, 2026. He will be laid to rest during a private family burial service in the spring at Swedesburg, IA.

Eric was born to Wally and Bonnie (Carlson) Bloom on December 30, 1951, and was raised on a family farm near Winfield, IA. He graduated from Winfield-Mt. Union High School and the University of Iowa with a degree in accounting.

Following graduation, Eric lived in Colorado for a short time before returning to Iowa City and Muscatine, IA. He spent the majority of his career in the accounting department at Grain Processing Corp/Kent Feeds in Muscatine. In 1995, he moved to Las Vegas, NV, where he was a craps dealer at the Golden Nugget Casino for several years. Upon retiring, he moved to Sioux Falls.

Eric is survived by his children, Aaron (Kelli) Bloom of St. Cloud, MN, and AJ (Leslie) Bloom of New Albany, OH; grandchildren Alison and Emily Bloom and Brody and Ella Bloom; sister Barb (Marty) Chebuhar of Des Moines, IA; nephews Joe (Amy) Chebuhar and Andrew Chebuhar, and great-nephews Carter, Caleb, and Cooper Chebuhar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John, and his infant sister Susan.
