Ernest 'Ernie' A. Lampe

      KALONA-Ernest "Ernie" A. Lampe, 84, of Wellman, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at his home, following a lengthy illness.

      The funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside, with the Rev. Rich Adam officiating. Visitation will continue this evening at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a rosary said at 7 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will also continue Friday from 7 a.m. to noon, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wellman Public Cemetery in Wellman. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Washington County or St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wellman.

      Mr. Lampe was born on July 20, 1920 in Cottonwood, to Henry and Rose (Mehmert) Lampe. on Jan. 20, 1942, he married Ruth H. Kramer.
