Esther Horak

Esther L. Horak, 95, of Washington, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, in the M.L. McCreedy Home in Washington.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 29, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Bernie Weir officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established for the Alzheimer?s Association and for Hospice of Washington County.

Mrs. Horak was born Jan. 5, 1920, the daughter of Isadore and Eugenia (Woebig) Deutsch. She married Leonard Horak on Nov. 11, 1941.

She was a very active parishioner at St. James Catholic Church, and she loved the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Surviving are four children, Phil Horak and wife Diane of Sigourney, Vicki Ortega and husband Joe of Chino Hills, California, Nancy Flynn and husband Joe of Washington, and Bryan Horak and wife Cathy of Marion; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one daughter, Rhonda Horak.
