Ethel L. VanTrump

      Ethel L. VanTrump, 93, formerly of Moline, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at St. Anthony?s Continuing Care Center in Rock Island, Ill.

      The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Trimble Funeral Home in Moline, Ill, with her granddaughter the Rev. Marsha Acord officiating. Visitation will begin an hour before the service. Private burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, Ill. Memorials may be made to an educational fund for her great-grandchildren.

      Mrs. VanTrump was born Nov. 12, 1907, in West Burlington, the daughter of John and Josie Volkner Schwartz. She married Elsworth VanTrump on Dec. 11, 1927, in Burlington, who preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1979. She was a waitress at various restaurants and enjoyed shopping, cooking and reading.

      Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn and Merle Acord of Princeton; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Schwartz.
