Eugene H. Coder, 75, of Phoenix, Ariz. died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000 after a lengthy illness.

His body has been cremated. A memorial service was held in Phoenix. Burial will be later in Iowa. A memorial to the Kidney Foundation has been established.

Mr. Coder was born in Minnesota, the son of Harry and Jessie Lewis Coder. He married Pauline Roskup on Jan. 20, 1945, in Muscatine. He farmed in the Muscatine area before moving to Mt. Pleasant. He joined his father in operating the Mt. Pleasant Ready Mix Cement Plant. He had also managed the Starlight Inn Motel in Mt. Pleasant before moving to Washington, where he managed the Rose Motel before moving to Phoenix.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Joseph Coder of Oskaloosa; two daughters, Margaret Edwards of Mt. Pleasant and Cindy Apostoles of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Francis.
