Eunice Jones

RICHLAND ? Eunice Geraldine ?Gerry? Jones, 77, of Rubio, died Sunday, May 1, 2016, at her home. She had been in failing health.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, at Gould Funeral Home in Richland with the Rev. Carl Ratcliff officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. Visitation will immediately precede the service, from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. A general memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Mike Davis at 102 Prost Avenue, Richland, IA 52585. Gould Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 17, 1938, the daughter of Jerry and Manie (Eldridge) Clark. She married Joseph M. Jones on June 5, 1958, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

She grew up in the Richland and Brighton area, attended Clay Country School and graduated from Brighton High School. She was a housewife, and worked at Advance Ross in Fairfield and at McCleery Cumming Company in Washington for 30 years until she retired in 1998. Earlier she had worked as a babysitter and waitress. She enjoyed her garden, fishing, mushroom hunting, trapping, hunting, and crocheting.

Surviving are one brother, Merle Clark; three sisters, Mable Goettsche, Wilma Essary, and Betty Clark; nieces; nephews; special friend, Hubert Hamilton; and other friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on July 9, 2003; and one sister, Mildred Bekel.
