Evelyn 'Evie' Sondag

      CEDAR RAPIDS-Evelyn "Evie" Sondag, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab in Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness.

      Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Donald Klein officiating. Inurnment will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. There will be no public visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of St. Luke's. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa, in Cedar Rapids, is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mrs. Sondag was born on March 29, 1914, in Wellman, to Calvin and Hattie (Taylor) Griggs. She married Gerald "Jerry" L. Sondag on July 4, 1934, in Sigourney.
