Evelyn S. Rasmus

Evelyn S. Rasmus, 97, of Madison, Tenn., formerly of Burlington, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Care Stone Assisted Living at River Gate in Madison.

Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington, with family present from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Simmons officiating. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.

She was born April 15, 1911, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Louis and Anna Bruhn Diemer. On Aug. 31, 1929, she married Glen Simmons in Monmouth, Ill. Following his death, she married Cecil Rasmus on Oct. 1, 1979, in Burlington.
