Everette L. Plecker

      KALONA - Everette L. Plecker, 93, of Wellman, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, in Parkview Manor in Wellman following a long illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman with the Rev. Doug Cue officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grover Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Asbury United Methodist Church and the Wellman Fire Department.

      Mr. Plecker was born Feb. 24, 1915, near Wellman, the son of William and Lottie (Miller) Plecker. He married Marguerite Kleinschmidt on Feb. 24, 1938, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City.
