Ezra R. Smith

      Ezra R. Smith, 86, of Washington, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the United Methodist Church in Washington, with the Rev. Don Hodson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at noon Monday, Oct. 20, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 that evening, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington. Masonic services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

      Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society and Shrine Children's Hospitals.

      Mr. Smith was born Feb. 8, 1917, in Washington, to Walter E. and Clare L. (Jay) Smith. He married Wanda Louise Graham on March 11, 1958, in Washington.
