Faye M. Scott, age 88, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital following a short illness.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A general memorial has been established. Faye was born May 2, 1936, in Sheridan, Wyoming, the daughter of Fred A. and Nina (Faulkner) Martin. She attended school in Bronaugh, Missouri. Faye was united in marriage to Benjamin Scott on September 5, 1959, in Rock Island, Illinois.
Faye has resided in Washington, Iowa, for the past 72 years, where she worked in the kitchen at Winga’s and worked at the American Pearl Button Factory. Faye lastly worked at Crane Valves until her retirement. She enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing and going to the casino. She also enjoyed gathering with family and friends at the Frontier Café and traveling to the Ozarks and Branson, Missouri. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Rocky Scott of Iowa; daughter, Shirley (Marshall) Hess of Honaker, Virginia; daughter, Karen (Kenny “Hitch”) Hitchcock of Andalusia, Illinois; son, Mike (Denise) Scott of Coralville, Iowa; daughter, Vicki Myers of Washington, Iowa; son, Timmy Scott of Washington, Iowa; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Babe Knerr of Washington, Iowa; and brother, Ray “Sonny” Martin of Golden Valley, Arizona.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2002; son, Stony Scott; sister, Anna Maye Cole; brother, Freddie Martin; brother, Marion Martin; sister, Nova Holland and brother, Eddie Holland.
