Fern Louise Howell

      COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Fern Louise Howell, 82, of Washington, formerly of Columbus Junction, died Monday, March 10, 2008, in her home.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, in the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction with the Rev. Ed Parker and the Rev. Bill Jamison officiating. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund has been established.

      Mrs. Howell was born July 27, 1925, in Wayland, the daughter of James Lawrence and Pearl (Haifley) Messer. She married Ross Elkin Sr. They later divorced. She married Marion Howell on Jan. 1, 1948, in Monmouth, Ill.
