Ferna M. Garner May 6, 1932 - June 11, 2003

Ferna M. Garner, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2003, in her home following a lengthy illness.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14 at Sharon United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids.       Mrs. Garner was born on May 6, 1932, in Elmwood, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Fern Harper Lingenfelter. She was a 1950 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She married Paul Garner on Feb. 14, 1953. She retired from the Cedar Rapids Schools Food Service. She was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Early Ford V8 Club, Model A Club and AACA.
