Ferne L. Davis

      Ferne L. Davis, 90, of Davenport and formerly of the Washington and Ainsworth areas, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at the Genesis East Hospital in Davenport.

      The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home. Burial will be inthe Cambrian Cemetery. A memorial has been established at the funeral home.

      Mrs. Davis was born Feb. 21, 1910, in Ainsworth, the daughter of James and Anna Cook. She married H. Homer Davis on Oct. 1, 1941, at Crawfordsville. She was a homemaker, a member of the Salem Welsh Presbyterian Church, and the Wyman Women?s Club. She also loved to garden and plant flowers every year.

      Survivors include her daughter, Frances Keller of Davenport; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers Lester and Victor; and four sisters, Irma, Sylvia, Mildred and Hazel.
