Feryl Duane 'Doc' Gipple

Feryl Duane "Doc" Gipple, 75, of Washington, formerly of Crawfordsville, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington after declining in health for the past 10 years.

      Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer and the Rev. Harlan Winter officiating. Burial will be at the Cambrian Cemetery in rural Columbus Junction. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A general memorial has been established.

      Dr. Gipple was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Louisa County, the son of Feryl Roderick and Beula Marie (Buffington) Gipple. He married Betty Margaret Rees on March 3, 1954, at the Salem Welsh Church in rural Columbus Junction.
