Floyd “Toad” Michael Pfeiffer, age 76, of West Plains, Missouri, formerly of Washington, Iowa, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
The family will be present to receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Jones and Eden Funeral Home. Military honors will be accorded by Washington American Legion Post 29. Interment will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for Floyd’s family at www.jonesfh.com.
Floyd was born April 7, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Robert William and Nelle Elizabeth (Martin) Pfeiffer. He graduated from Washington High School and spent many years living in Washington, Iowa, before moving to Missouri later in life.
Floyd served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He loved going dancing, taking walks outside, and painting scenery pictures.
Floyd is survived by his daughter, Angela (Mike) Woods of Center Point, Iowa, and his son, Jim (Julie) Pfeiffer of Walker, Iowa; five grandchildren: Allison and Sydney Woods of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Megan Meyer of Denver, Iowa, Madison Pfeiffer of Dyersville, Iowa, and Michael Pfeiffer of Center Point, Iowa; three great-grandchildren: James, Jude, and Jericho; and sister, Roberta Svuba of West Plains, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Tommy, Bill, Frank, and David Pfeiffer; and his sister Ruby Pfeiffer.
