Frances Ann “Fran” Langenberg, age 86, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Home.
Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Church with Chaplain Andrew Zuehlke officiating. Calling hours will begin 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established for the United Presbyterian Home or Washington County Relay for Life. bFran was born June 2, 1938, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Francis “Hap” and Annetta (Coppock) McConnell. Fran graduated from Washington High School in 1956 and later received her Degree in Nursing from St. Luke’s in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was married to Ron Goff and later married Jerry Langenberg.
Fran worked as a Registered Nurse for the Washington County Hospital, University of Iowa Hospital and the United Presbyterian Home. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Chilcote Questers, and Beta Sigma Phi Gamma Tau Sorority. Fran enjoyed reading, working in her flower beds, playing the piano, and listening to music. Fran especially enjoyed visiting and spending time with her granddaughters.
She is survived by her sons, Tim Goff of Guffey, Colorado; Jim Goff of Washington, Iowa; two granddaughters, Jillian Goff and Alecia Goff; sister, Sandra Krotz of Washington, Iowa; sister, Linda Thurston of Salisbury, North Carolina; sister Karen (Larry) Nolte of Framingham, Massachusetts; sister, Betty Kuehn of Anacortes, Washington; sister, Jana Nieman of Washington, Iowa; brother, Phil (Cyndi) McConnell of Snohomish, Washington; sister, Chris (Don) Magness of Anacortes, Washington; brother, Robert (Julie) McConnell of St. Louis, Missouri; sister, Brenda (Dave) Pratt of Marion, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Langenberg; and three brothers-in-law, Larry Krotz, Steve Thurston and Von Kuehn.
