Frances Ann Nichols, 89,

of Elma, IA, formerly of Brighton, died Tuesday June 15, 2021, at Regional Health Services of Howard County. She was born in Ollie, IA, October 4, 1931, to Rev. Clayton Reginald and Holly Alice McCreery Paxton. She grew up and attended schools in Ollie and married Robert E. Nichols in Sigourney on March12, 1947. He died March 30, 2014. Frances was a homemaker and lived in Brighton most of her life.

She is survived by one son, Dwight Nichols (Bonnie) of Decorah, IA; five daughters, Dolores Williams of Jackson, TN, Donna Nesja of Millbrook, AL, Denise Stout of Ames, IA, Dorene Schoolen (Robert) of Coppock, IA, Diane Rorech (William) of Fruitland Park, FL; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchilden; one sister, Arloene Shy of Mt. Pleasant; and one brother, James Paxton (Evalene) of Humeston, IA.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her daughter, Debra Wagamon; two sons, Duane and David Nicholsher; brother, Dean Paxton; and sons-in-law, Dave Nesja and Bernard Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday June 18, 2021, at the Brighton First Church of God with Pastors Rick Hughes and Ryan Meader officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Ollie Cemetery. A general memorial may be left at the church or mailed to Dwight Nichols at 3610 113th Avenue, Dorchester, IA 52140. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
