Frances E. Bain July 29, 1922 - October 12, 2005

      Frances Elizabeth Bain, 83, of Wayland, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, 2005, at her home near Wayland.

      The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Herb Yoder of the Eicher Mennonite Church officiating. Burial will be in the Wayland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, Oct. 14 at the funeral home, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Wayland Cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Bain and Thomas Bain, both of Peoria, Ariz., and Gary and his wife Loree Bain of Sigourney; seven daughters, Barbara and her husband Allan Smith of Davenport, Mary Jo Bain of Silvis, Ill., Kathryn and her husband Mike Furlong of Davenport, Linda Bredberg of East Moline, Ill., Nancy Bain of Santa Ana, Calif., Marlene and her husband Greg Pelster of Streamwood, Ill., and Lora Bain of Wayland; a sister, Ruth Stauffer of Wayland; and 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Russell Bain; a brother, Dale Stalder; a sister, Elsie Stalder; and a daughter-in-law, Melissa Bain.
