Frances M. Phillips July 7, 1935 - December 5, 2003

Frances Mae Phillips, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Salem, died on Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Revs. Tom Palmer and Charlie Sander officiating. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established to the children's department at Grace Community Friends Church. Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant was in charge of arrangements.

      Survivors include a son, Jerry and his wife Patti Phillips of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Linda Sammons of Mt. Union, Ruth Ann McMeins and Carlene Phillips, both of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Butch Simmons of Fremont; nine grandchildren, one step-grandchild and seven great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
