Frances W. McAvoy

    Frances W. McAvoy, 90, of Washington, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, in the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, following a two-week decline in health.

    Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington with the Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating.  Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.  Memorials may be given to the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

    Mrs. McAvoy was born Aug. 9, 1919, at home on her family?s farm four miles south of Wellman in Cedar Township, the daughter of Jacob S. and Mary Ellen (Wade) Fisher.  She married Marion ?Charlie? Shrader McAvoy on Oct. 12, 1941, at the First Presbyterian Church in Washington.
