Francine E. Calhoun

Francine E. Calhoun, 74, of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at Park Place in Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Salem East Cemetery.

Ms. Calhoun was born on March 3, 1933, in Osceola, the daughter of Fred and Edna McCarl Dunn. On Oct. 8, 1983, she married John E. Calhoun in Las Vegas, Nev. She had previously been married to Dale Barnett.

She worked for 30 years as a bartender in New London and Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed reading, crosswords puzzles, TV and her family.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Robin Snider of Nevada; two sons, Mike Barnett of Palmyra, Tenn. and Tom Barnett of Clarksville, Tenn.; two step-daughters: Debbie Casson of Cottonwood, Ariz. and Monica Kemp of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; one brother Miles Green of Panhandle, Tex.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Her parents, one son, one grandson, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
