Francis G. Leonard

      Francis G. Leonard, 82, of the West Chester area, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a short illness.

      Funeral services have been set for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Patrick Leonard officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Wichita, Kan, with military honors at a later date. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday in the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.

      Mr. Leonard was born July 24, 1925, in Marceline, Mo., the son of George Francis and Nancy Estelle (Derrick) Leonard. He married Bernadine Ruth on Feb. 16, 1944. He later married Monnie G. Acord on Dec. 21, 1971.
