Francis J. ?Frank? Jameson

Francis J. ?Frank? Jameson, 60, of rural Wayland, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at his home.

      A private family memorial service will be held at the Wayland Mennonite Church. Public visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the church. The body has been cremated according to Mr. Jameson?s wishes. Memorials have been established to Crossroads Hospice of Southeast Iowa. Arrangements are by the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel.

      Mr. Jameson was born Feb. 15, 1940, in Keosauqua, the son of William Orval and Helen Dorothy Harper Jameson. He married Charlotte Evans in Keosauqua. He attended Keosauqua public schools, was an auto mechanic, and operated the Jameson Garage in Keosauqua until 1985 when he moved to Atlanta, Ga., where he continued automotive work with his son in Jameson Automotive. He was a mechanic for race car driver Jim Dorothy, enjoyed watching high school sports, and played softball. He returned to the Wayland area in August of this year. He was of the Christian faith.

      Survivors include a son, Troy and Angie Jameson of Canton, Ga.; a daughter, Kathy and Greg Stacy of Wayland; five sisters, Jonnine Long of California, Sandy Wheaten of Missouri, Joice Stevens and Joan Jerrel of Georgia and Judy Warrington of Iowa; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters.
