Francis J. Reed

      Francis J. Reed, 88, of Washington, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Parkview Manor in Wellman following a lengthy illness.

      Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Ed O'Melia officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will begin at noon today in the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Iowa City.

      Mr. Reed was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Washington, the son of Harry and Rose (Smith) Reed. He married Clara Dobras on June 25, 1946 in the Catholic Church in Fairfield.
