Francis Kae Simons passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield, IA. A graveside service will begin at
11:00 a.m. on Wednesday,
December 16, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, IA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Fairfield. The family will not be present during this time. Masks and social distancing are respectfully requested at all services. Francis Kae Simons began her life on March 8, 1937, in Fairfield, IA, the daughter of Edward and Mabel Singleton Angstead. She attended school in Fairfield, leaving early to marry the love of her life, Donald Simons. She later completed her GED and spent the early years of their marriage raising their seven children. As the children grew older, Kae began working as a housekeeping supervisor at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield. She was a lifelong resident of Fairfield and enjoyed crafting and cherished the time she spent with her family.
Kae is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald (2017); five siblings, Lois Hoskins, Minnie Cline, Barb Litton, Delmer Angstead, and Homer Angstead; as well as a brother and sister in infancy.
Left to share her story are her two sons, Tim (Fran) Simons of Fairfield, IA, and Terry (Donna) Simons of West Point, IA; five daughters, Twyla Simons of West Des Moines, IA, Trina (Randy) Hall of Webster, TX, Thelma (Lee) Dimmitt of Fairfield, IA, Teresa (Gary) Rodgers of Fairfield, IA and Traci Waugh of Fairfield, IA; a sister, Jessie Davidson of Birmingham, IA; eighteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family and friends.
