Francisco Javier Zapata

      COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Francisco Javier Zapata, 34, of Columbus City, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in his home in Columbus City.

      Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbus Junction with the Rev. Paul Appel officiating. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Following the committal services, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the St. Joseph Church Egert Hall. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday with prayers of the Rosary at 8 p.m. in the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund has been established.

      Mr. Zapata was born March 12, 1973, in Puebla, Mexico, the son of Juan Antonio and Anna Maria (Zamora) Zapata.
