Frank G. Salladay

Frank G. "Frankie" Salladay, 65, died Saturday, Nov. 10, at the VA hospital in Iowa City.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, Nov. 16 from 5 p.m. to midnight at the Briggs Center in Wapello. There will be no visitation or funeral.

Frank was born Sept. 22, 1942 in Wapello, the son of Carl Salladay and Frances Lynch. On Dec. 27, 1969, he married Paulette L. Bailey.

A graduate of Wapello High School, he worked various jobs until voluntarily enlisting and serving in Vietnam from1967 to 1968.

Frank loved to hunt and fish. He was a passionate outdoorsman and conservationist. He was a Hunters Safety Instructor, and had several marksman awards and achievements.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Tracy Ousey and her husband Chris of Washington; his brother, Clarence Salladay of Wapello; and three grandchildren.

His parents and sisters Carlene Winchester and Sonja Salladay preceded him in death.
