Franklin Dee Mills

Franklin Dee Mills, 57, of Fairfield, formerly of Kirksville, Mo., died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

A funeral is at 2 p.m. Thursday at Southside Baptist Church in Kirksville, Mo., with the Rev. Aaron Rogerson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Price Cemetery in Winigan, Mo.

Family will receive friends from noon until the 2 p.m. service Thursday at the church.

Mr. Mills was born March 25, 1956 in Lawton, Okla., the son of Franklin D. and Phyllis Helene Shilling Mills. He married Joyce Steele March 26, 1988, in Lancaster, Mo.

He graduated from Bucklin R-II High School, Bucklin, Mo.

He served in the U. S. Army.

He resided in the Winigan area until 1991, when he moved to Fairfield.

He last worked for Tony Adrian on his farm in Fairfield.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, tinkering with lawn mowers and fixing up old tractors, and he loved to fish.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Fairfield; three daughters, Tabitha Mills of Kirksville, Mo., Emily Mills of Austin, Texas, and Tiffany Koenig of Mansfield, Ohio; two brothers, Steven Mills of Princeton, Mo., and Arthur Mills of Greentop, Mo.; three sisters, Lucille Smith and Debbie Furgason, both of Kirksville, and Cindy Dolbeare of Shelbina, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Bryon Steele.
