Franklin Paul Smith

Franklin Paul Smith, 78, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Lutheran Living.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Sycamore Baptist Church. Burial will take place in Keota Cemetery. The Ralph J. Franklin was born on March 8, 1940, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Virgil and Wiona McDonald Smith.

Franklin was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church and volunteered his time as a Boy Scout Troop Leader. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus every year. Above all, Franklin looked after his sister.

He is survived by his children, Jerry Smith Sr. and wife, Teresa, of West Point, Ill., and Nancy Martin and husband, John Sr., of Carthage, Ill.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Berry, of Muscatine; and many nieces and nephews.

Franklin is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Cliff, Kenneth, Virgil, Joan, Clarence, Arnold, Bill, and Josephine.
