Freda M. Kron

KALONA ? Freda M. Kron, 95, of Kalona, formerly of Riverside, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary?s Catholic Church. Betty Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kron was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Riverside, the daughter of Fred and Leona (Mottet) Frank. She married Raymond J. Kron on Feb. 4, 1941.

She and her husband farmed together in the Riverside area all their lives. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Riverside, and enjoyed taking care of her family.

Surviving are one son, Gaylen ?Boo? Kron and wife Dee of Riverside; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Anita Sojka of Kalona; and one brother, Paul Frank and wife Mary of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; two sisters, Zelda Gerot, and Ceola Gerot; and one brother, Robert Frank.
