Frederic J. Schmidt

Frederic J. Schmidt, 85, of Winfield, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Henry County Health Center.

      The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield with the Rev. Jo Hary officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at the Honts Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. A general memorial has been established.

      Mr. Schmidt was born Jan. 3, 1915, at Mt. Pulaski, Ill., the son of Joe and Josephine (Simon) Schmidt. He married Marion Miller in September 1956 at Sigourney. A 1933 graduate of Winfield High School, he was a member of Good Faith Masonic Lodge #235 and the Winfield United Methodist Church. He worked for many years as the parts manager at Hillyard Implement of Winfield.

      Survivors include his wife, a brother, Albert J. Schmidt of Winfield, and nieces and nephews.
