Fredrick 'Buss' Turner
Fredrick "Buss" Turner, 81, of 807 S. Maple St. in Fairfield died at 3:08 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Donald Hickman officiating. The burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the Behner Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. that evening. Memorials may be established to the American Heart Association or Donor's Choice.
Mr. Turner was born Dec. 16, 1918, in Fairfield, the son of Thomas and Gertrude Johnson Turner. He married Frances Lorraine Miller on July 4, 1938 at the Christian Church in Lancaster, Mo. Buss had lived his entire life in the Fairfield Community. He was a graduate of the Fairfield High School class of 1937. He worked at Pickens-Firestone as sales manager for 12 years. He started the first NAPA Auto Parts Company in Fairfield. He, along with his wife, Frances, opened and operated Iowa Tire Sales Co. since 1944. Buss and Frances attended the Free Methodist Church years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Turner of Fairfield; two daughters, Mona Sue Howard of Fairfield and Crystal Reneker of Fairfield; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Elaine Ruby.
