Frieda Dameron

Frieda Dameron, 95, of 303 W. Lincoln St., New London died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at the Henry County Health Center.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 7, at Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. Mike Meyer officiating. Interment will be in the Burge Cemetery in New London. Friends may call until 8 p.m. this evening at Elliott Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. this evening. Memorials can be made to the Harmony Bible Church, the Pontussac Community Church, or the New London Rescue Unit.

Mrs. Dameron was born Sept. 24, 1904, in Sperry, the daughter of Henry and Elisa Eichofs Sperfslage. She married Mervin "Bill" Dameron on Oct. 28, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant. She attended Diamond School, southeast of Sperry. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper at Dameron Clothing Company in New London. Before her marriage, she was a residence housekeeper for "Hollidays" in Morning Sun. She was a member of the Harmony Bible Church. Her family was her hobby, and she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved birds, gardening, and flowers, and was an excellent cook.

Survivors include one son, Robert Dameron of New London; one sister, Marie Hoffer of Sperry; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five sisters; three brothers; one half-sister; one step-sister; one step-brother; and one grandson.
