Gary Francis Trabert
Gary Francis Trabert, 59, of Danville, died at 6:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, at the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant with Dr. Edward R. Peterson. Visitation will be after noon on Thursday, Nov. 16, at Elliott Chapel with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery of Mt. Pleasant with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2561 and American Legion Post #58, honor guard of Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established.
Mr. Trabert was born Sept. 8, 1941, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Virgil Franklin and Helen Maude Britton Trabert. He married Carla Scott in December 1986. An iron worker in Local #577 of United Ironworkers, he was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Mt. Pleasant VFW Post #2561. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and going to his cabin. He was a 1959 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Tracy Covert and Lori Blotzer of Plattsmouth, Neb., Teresa Trabert of Kansas City, Kan., and Stephanie Johnson of Biggsville, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Renee Drew of Wayland; his stepmother, Elberta Trabert of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Ricki Trabert of Tiffin; a step-brother, Kent Potter of Mt. Pleasant; a step-sister, Susan Snyder of Mt. Pleasant; a niece, a nephew and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, Tim Scott, and a brother, Dennis Trabert.
